Hello, my name is Maggie!

I’m a Multimedia Journalist currently working at KOAA News5 in Colorado Springs.

Good journalism makes my community a better place. That’s why I’m passionate about seeking the truth, uplifting voices, and shining a light on issues so we all can stay informed and live better lives.

Over the past two and a half years at KOAA, I’ve formed valuable relationships with people across Southern Colorado while reporting on the things impacting them. I’ve learned everyone has a story to tell.

By working my crime trend and public safety beat, I’ve reported on the enormous spike in violent juvenile crime affecting my community, how its hurting business owners, maxing out youth detention centers, and what legislators are doing to fix it.

After a deadly shooting on a nearby college campus, my exclusive reporting helped uncover a lack of emergency planning and training at the university.

I have worked and filled in for almost every on-air position at KOAA: Dayside MMJ, Morning Reporter, Nightside MMJ, Weekend Morning Anchor/Producer, and Weekend Evening Anchor.

I am a journalist you want on your team, the first person to pick up the phone to call a source, and a thorough worker under deadline pressure.

I grew up in West Des Moines, Iowa (Go Hawks!) and got my Bachelor of Journalism at the University of Missouri (M-I-Z!).

Outside of work, you can find me Facetiming my family a million times each day, snuggling up with my Maine Coon cat, spending time outdoors, or reading a good book!
